Marché de Noël

There's nothing like the cozy, festive Christmas atmosphere at the marché de Noël. I've been looking forward to seeing Angers decked out in lights and enjoying a steaming hot cup of vin chaud for awhile now and at last it's arrived!

When the markets opened on Saturday my friend Sam and I walked all over seeing the stalls and eventually relaxed by the carousel and saw the well dressed little French kids take uber delight at the ride.

Sausage is really popular here...
A little later a few of us enjoyed our very first vin chaud of the Christmas market.

The official moment where the lights turned on all over the city was last Saturday at 6 so David, Rosie and I took a break from Thanksgiving prep to see the sights.

There were creepy stilt creatures, because they just had to do something kind of weird I think. :)

And now for the month of December the market is open every day, I love it! In fact I'm going back in a couple hours to check it out with Dan, and enjoy a crepe with Nutella for dessert, mmm. Tomorrow Dan, David and I are going to visit Nantes just 30 minutes away and I hear their market is way better- but I'll have to get back to you on that one. I for one am hoping to enjoy some mussels and muscadet :) Bon weekend!
